Event Setup

Creating an event

  1. Create EventEvent name, Organizer, Start/End, Currency, optional Description.
  2. Click Continue / Create. Lands on the event dashboard.

Starts in Draft — delegates can't register until published (see below).

Event Settings — all tabs

Event sidebar → Event Settings. One page, tabs as anchors:

TabConfigures
Event DetailsName, dates, description
LocationVenue / online details
CheckoutHomepage/checkout options
SEOSEO title, description, keywords
Email & TemplatesSender email/name, footer, notifications, email templates — see below

Setting a conference's sender ("From") email

Event Settings → Email & Templates → Email & Notification Settings:

FieldNotes
Support EmailReplies and delegate queries land here
Sender namee.g. Cardiology Summit 2026 — blank uses the default sender name
Sender emaile.g. summit@wiredin.ae — blank uses the default sender
Email footer messageRich text
Notify organizer of new ordersSwitch

Save. The sender email/domain must be verified with the email provider (Mailjet) first — unverified addresses fail to deliver or land in spam. Calix itself doesn't block unverified domains (no system-level check) — verify in Mailjet before setting a custom sender for a client event, don't rely on Calix to catch it.

Tickets

Event sidebar → Registrations & Add-ons (Tickets/Products):

  1. Create TicketName, Type (Free / Paid + price), Quantity available. Save.

Paid tickets route to Stripe checkout — use Free tickets for test runs (Stripe live keys only work in production).

Homepage Designer

Event sidebar → Homepage Designer:

Theme & ColorsBackground Type (Color / Use cover image), accent/background colors, light/dark
TypographyFont family
Button TextContinue Button Text (e.g. "Get Tickets")

Save Changes; live preview pane updates as you edit.

Registration Questions

Event sidebar → Registration Questions — custom questions delegates answer at registration, beyond name/email. (Exact field-type options not yet verified in this pass — confirm before relying on advanced settings.)

Approvals and Waitlist — not used as an approval gate

Two features can look like an approval gate: Waitlist (sold-out queue) and Approvals (only shown if "Require registration approval" is on in settings). Neither is Wiredin's approval process — locked decision, 2026-06-03. Leave both off; leave events on open registration. Need a gated event? Ask first — this is a decision, not a default.

Publishing

  1. Switch Draft → Live (status control near the event name).
  2. Public URL: https://<domain>/event/<id>/<slug>.

Then see Registrations & Check-in.

Internal Wiredin colleague resource — not for external distribution.
